Born and raised in Hanoi during the early 1990s, a time of curious transition, he spent his early years in a peaceful prelude to the sudden tide of internet and social media. His childhood unfolded in the sun-drenched shade of schoolyard trees, waiting for his mother to pick him up on her old bicycle, in the stairwells of Thanh Cong's communal living, or watching the rain blur the white canvas of West Lake.
These feel like echoes of two separate existences. The lingering resonance of quietude and gentle daydreams in a Hanoi of a slower pace continues to call to him, a yearning for a past, a "mother planet," a tranquil haven for solace and remembrance.
His street photography is an attempt to capture these hushed moments, to give form to stillness. With deliberate composition and the contrasting dance of light and color to draw focus to the subject, seen through the intimate gaze of his lens, his photographs are an invitation to step outside the flow of now, to stand by him and taste the lingering sweetness of the moments gone by.
