Noirfoto Art Class: Pinhole Photography

Have you ever wonder why image formed and photography begin? Pinhole photography will explain the magic. This is lens-less photography, a tiny hole replaces the lens. Light passes through the hole; an image is formed in the camera. Basically a pinhole camera is a box, with a tiny hole at one end and film or photographic paper at the other. Pinhole cameras are used for fun, for art and for science.

Pinhole is a simple and fun at the same time, creative to understand how light goes through the tiny hole and form an image. We should forget about technical things and enjoy the miracle of taking photo with a… carton box.

In this workshop, you will learn the basics of photography, mathematics, physic, chemistry. You will be introduced to the analog darkroom and silver gelatin paper. We will guide you to make make your own pinhole camera, take 3 pictures, process them in the darkroom. After the class, you will have a camera and prints to bring home.

Bring your own carton shoe box! (if any)
